Mallorca lighthouses you have to visit
Where the land meets the sea, and where sailors and travelers seek a light in hopes of finding shelter, that is where we find the guardians of the coasts of Mallorca: the lighthouses.
There are many lighthouses standing around the island, overseeing the ports of Mallorca. While some are more visible and others are hidden in magical corners, they are all significant elements that attract the attention of countless tourists.
Among the various lighthouses we can find, we have chosen six that you simply cannot miss during your trip.
Located on the tip of the Formentor Peninsula, this lighthouse is a must if you want to discover the most emblematic parts of the island. It was inaugurated in 1863 and since then has been one of the most characteristic images on the island.
Cabo Blanco Lighthouse
This lighthouse, which consists of a 12-meter-high white tower, beacons the Eastern tip of the Bay of Palma. Located on the highest cliffs of Mallorca, the “Cap Blanc”, it is the perfect destination from which to enjoy a sunset.
Cap Gros Lighthouse
With some spectacular views from the port of Soller, it stands at 120 meters above sea level. Its 22-meter-high tower is divided into 5 segments, each with a smaller diameter than the one below.
The lighthouse consists of a black and white 25-meter-high tower from which you can contemplate beautiful dawns where the sun rises from behind the sea. It beacons the Northern point of the natural port of Portocolom, located in Sa Punta de Ses Crestes.
The light that pours forth from this 18-meter-high tower can be seen from Menorca, a white tower with dark angles and a russet roof that is so impressive, the Catalan singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat names it in one of his songs.
Cala Figuera Lighthouse
White 24-meter-high tower with a black spiral located on a smallish cliff, which means that the waves reach it during storms.
If you stay in our hotel in Palma, these are some of the Mallorca lighthouses that you have to visit during your visit to the island. Because this island is full of charming sites, at the Hotel Costa Azul we help you discover all of them.
